Part II

We finally get to Baile Herculane; we’re soaked to the bone and horribly cold. We spend two days there (instead of one) because of bad weather. We still manage to take some pictures, most to our disappointment. What could be an outstanding place was really just a ruin…

When the rain finally decides to give us a break, we head south to Orşova and then west along the Danube to Portile de Fier. That was one of the greatest days really. Not only the mighty Sun was kind enough to show us it was still alive and kicking, but the views were also special. Oh, we saw two foxes by the side of the road, too.

We had in mind to see Cheile Nerei, but it had started to rain again and it was quite late. So we had to move on and cut it short.
